This 5 week “See Clearly” meditation workshop is designed for people who would like more of all of this and would like to develop a regular sitting practice, perhaps already have a random one or are just curious as to how life could be different if they applied themselves in this way. If you already have a meditation practice but would like to refine it or overcome resistance to it and learn to love it more, then this course is for you too. There is no pre-requisite bar a desire to live a more balanced and involved way of life – the by product of which is the experience of more contentment, peace, love and joy… and who doesn’t want that?!

Desire is one thing… so if you want all the above then you have half the equation. Discipline is the other thing in the equation and often the hardest thing to achieve on your own. And the paradox within which discipline sits is that it is also, believe it or not, the path to freedom. So if you wanted to get on the path, but haven’t had the discipline to even start, or, you don’t really know how or what to do… or even if you have gotten on the path and now you need some guidance, or you too need to develop discipline… then you’re also in the right place!
What's it about?
In each workshop, there will be a short talk on a specific area of meditation to help you better, or more deeply, understand WHY you are meditating, HOW to meditate, and how to sit while you are meditating and where you can deepen your practice. Each week will deepen from the previous week, leading you through the layers of the mind in a way that will improve your emotional intelligence and create greater freedom in your life. The style of meditation will expand each week – you will deepen your practice throughout the following week so that by the end of the course you will be able to choose a technique that works for you and practice that. In this way you will find what suits your unique self and be able to deepen into that practice. While it is not typically encouraged that you switch and change meditation practices from one week or day to the next, it is wise to find a style that is right for you – and the See Clearly workshop series is designed for exactly that.
What if I can't sit still for an hour and a half?
Each night we will also engage in energy work along the same vein as Qi Gong and restorative yoga – so if you are afraid of sitting for one and a half hours, fear not for there will be movement too! And just for those concerned about movement, this is very basic movement simply designed to rebalance and align the body after sitting for short periods of time.
Self-destruction? Or Enlightenment?! Which one are you about?!
So did you know that the human capacity for self-destruction and enlightenment are pretty much the same? And that this is a good thing… because it means that enlightenment, which is simply liberation or freedom, or, awakening to a new consciousness, or, a new perspective, is way easier than we ever could have imagined - bearing in mind there are many different levels of enlightenment and your first awakening could happen today!
Self destruction is simple right?! We’ve all had our turn playing that game to some degree or another…. so why not go for the other extreme now? And while I’m not promising Enlightenment, or even the cure to self-destruction, I am suggesting that the nature of your true inner being is yet to be discovered. Further, by Seeing Clearly into the depth of ones true self, a whole new sense of freedom awaits and that this small truth is the first step to enlightenment – or awakening, or freedom of the mind, depending on what you want to call it.
So as we pursue such freedom of the mind through the practice of meditation, destructive behaviour seems to slide by the way as we become more and more aware of a better way of living… Because that’s all it is… it’s just a better idea to love ourselves, than to destroy ourselves, to love our daily lives, instead of resist or fear them, and to experience more peace, instead of conflict. It’s just a better idea…. And with practice it opens us up into a whole new way of Being.

Through meditation we learn to let go and let flow. We learn a more peaceful, even deeply joyful, way of being and we gain a whole new perspective on life. It’s surprising how quickly we can awaken to a new way of seeing the same stuff. This course is designed to help you awaken to this new way of Seeing and to provide you with support as you embark upon the beautiful journey of inner change and transformation. Just as the caterpillar must go inside to find stillness and quite before she can emerge as the beautiful butterfly, so too must we learn to find our own stillness and quite before we can emerge as the true Beings that we really are.

Give yourself a five week trial, or challenge, and put yourself through this See Clearly Meditation Workshop series. By the end of five weeks you will see the stuff of life, the workings of your inner self and the nature of reality in a newly awakened way. This will be a unique experience. Whether you choose a formal practice and follow the path of an ancient lineage, lock yourself in the bathroom for half an hour a day or sit down the beach and stare at the horizons’ setting sun, it matters not. What matters is that you pick a path, and you get on that path, and you stick to it.
As the ancient saying goes, “Enquire who am I, know thyself and be free.” This course will help you pick your path to freedom and help you gain the techniques along with the discipline you need to stick to it, so that you may realize your own better idea.
Follow up courses will be available to help keep you on course and a tuesday night group is already running that you can move over to from this one if you would like to keep the practice running. This course is just one hour a night where we continue to deepen and expand our practice.
